If it were the former two, I don't think the computer would be as functional as it is. The "new" one I got was from Amazon as a "certified refurbished" unit. It MAY be totally coincidental, but I'm going to try a new power strip and also plug into a different outlet.Īlso, I'm not ready to write off the fact that it could STILL be a faulty PSU. It only happened once every couple of months, and figured my PSU was on the way out as it was particularly old. Then they would turn on 10 seconds or so later, at which point I could boot back up. Even all the standby lights on the mobo would turn off. My previous computer, with which this computer shares NO components, had a problem where it would turn off out the of the blue, as if someone just flipped the switch on the back of the PSU. Monitored my temps to see any sort of overheating (There's none) Made sure my power supply wires are secure

Ran "Reset this PC" and reinstalled Windows 10 Replaced PSU (I've read many people with Event 41 say it was faulty PSU, so I replaced and also went bigger in case I was underpowering my rig) Occasionally I see 6008: The previous system shutdown at *time and date* was unexpected. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly. It does have errors logged during the subsequent startup, usually:ġ61: Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation.Ĥ1: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. Windows does NOT create a minidump file even though that is enabled.Įvent Viewer does NOT have any error logged for the crash. So it crashes, I switch off the tower, switch back on, log in, then bam, black screen within 5 minutes (usually within 1 minute) When it DOES happen, it's usually within the first 5 minutes after logging in.Īfter it has happened once, it doesn't stop happening until I let it sit for ~1 day. It will happen on ANY subsequent startup, it has been second, third or fourth startup of the day. If I wake up and turn my computer on, I've played as long as 5 hours no crash. This crash NEVER happens on my first startup of the day. It freezes solid (can't move mouse, for example) for about half a second. Then the screens (triple monitor setup) go black, the keyboard goes black. Skill Trident 4x8 DDR4 3200 Mhz (32 gb)Ĭorsair RM850x PSU (Replaced by Corsair HX1200, see below)
